1958 -- Elston Howard hits an RBI single and Chicagoan Moose Skowron hits a three-run homer in a four-run eighth inning that breaks a 2-2 tie as the Yankees become the first team since the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1925 to overcome a 3 games to 1 deficit and win the World Series 4-3 over the defending champion Milwaukee Braves, who had beaten the Yankees the previous season.

1925 -- Future Cub Kiki Cuyler hits a tie-breaking two-run double off Walter Johnson in the bottom of the eighth as the Pittsburgh Pirates overcome a 7-6 deficit to beat the Washington Senators 9-7 in  Game 7 and become the first team to overcome a 3 games to 1 deficit.

1942 -- Rookie Whitey Kurowski hit a tie-breaking two-run homer off Red Ruffing in the top of the ninth inning as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Yankees 4 games to 1.

1982 -- The St. Louis Cardinals overcome a 3-1 deficit in the fifth inning with three runs in the sixth and two in the eighth and former Cub Bruce Sutter retires all six batters he faces to nail down a 6-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 7 at Busch Stadium to win the World Series 4 games to 3. It was the Cardinals' first World Series championship since 1967.

1984 -- Keith Moreland and Gary Matthews hit home runs and Rick Sutcliffe allows two runs over seven inning for the victory as the Cubs beat the Tigers 5-2 in Game 7 at Wrigley Field to win their first World Series title since 1908, ending the longest championship drought in baseball.
